The 33\/34-credit degree focuses on the preparation of nurses to work as nursing faculty in higher education or as nurse educators in health agencies.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, a post-master\u2019s program is offered, designed for those nurses holding a master\u2019s degree in nursing who are interested in pursuing nursing education.<\/p>\n<p>The Program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) 3343 Peachtree Rd NE, Suite 850, Atlanta, GA 30326<\/p>\n<p>Criteria for admission to the degree program include graduation from an approved nursing bachelor degree program or completion of the Transition Program for applicants with non-nursing baccalaureate degrees, an undergraduate cumulative grade point average of 3.0 (4.0 scale) for all nursing courses and full-time experience as a practicing registered professional nurse.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"collapsableContent\" tabindex=\"0\" type=\"button\"><div class=\"collapsableTitle\">Outcomes for the Program<\/div>\n<p><strong>Outcome 1: Knowledge\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013\u00a0Draws on extant literature and knowledge to design and implement evidence based teaching\/learning and evaluation practices to support global nursing education.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Outcome 2: Evidence Based Research and Practice\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013\u00a0Contributes to the development of the science of nursing education through the critique, utilization, dissemination of current evidence and the conduct of research.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Outcome 3: Information Management<\/strong> \u2013 Develop and use information and communication technologies to enter, retrieve, and evaluate data appropriate for the delivery and evaluation of nursing education.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Outcome 4: Professionalism\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013\u00a0Models professional behavior for learners and fellow faculty. Engage in lifelong learning activities, dissemination of information through scholarship and advocacy.
