Students enrolled in the Business Administration major will learn a variety of subjects spanning all aspects of the business community. Accounting, economics, business ethics, business law, finance, information systems, international business, management, marketing and organizational behavior are some of the subjects that are explored as students prepare for their business careers in today’s dynamic global and entrepreneurial economy.<\/p>\n
Students who have completed their Bachelor of Science in Business Administration\u00a0from Ramapo have been employed by national and local C.P.A. firms,\u00a0small and large corporations, banks and other service industries, and non profit organizations.\u00a0Additionally, many Ramapo business students are accepted into graduate
\nand doctoral programs annually. Students must choose one of the following\u00a0concentrations: Finance, Management, or Marketing, and may choose up to two concentrations.<\/p>\n
Rules of Acceptance into the Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Information Technology Management, and International Business Majors, see About the Anisfield School of Business (ASB)<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Goal 1: Communication: <\/strong>Our students will demonstrate effective oral and written communication using appropriate current technology.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Outcome 1: <\/strong>Students will deliver well prepared oral presentations.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Outcome 2: <\/strong>Students will compose well written business documents.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Goal 2: Ethics: <\/strong>Our students will consider the moral implications of business actions and processes, and propose ethically sound solutions.<\/p>\n Outcome 1: <\/strong>Students will detect ethical dilemmas and offer potential alternatives and solutions.<\/p>\n Goal 3: Foundation: <\/strong>Our students will have a broad-based knowledge in the functional areas of business.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Outcome 1: <\/strong>Students will comprehend principles and practices in key business disciplines.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Goal 4: Perspectives: <\/strong>Our students will consider diverse points of view and apply them towards issue resolution.<\/p>\n Outcome 1: <\/strong>Students will be able to identify and analyze different points of view when seeking to resolve business-related issues.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Goal 5: Reasoning: <\/strong>Our students will be critical thinkers and decision makers able to use qualitative and quantitative methods.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Outcome 1: <\/strong>Students will be able to identify and analyze problems and opportunities, generate alternatives, and recognize appropriate solutions.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Goal 6: Reasoning in the Discipline: <\/strong>Finance majors will be critical thinkers and decision makers able to use qualitative and quantitative methods.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Outcome 1: <\/strong>Finance majors will identify and analyze the problems and opportunities associated with firm leverage and profitability.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The Finance Program (Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration) provides students with a comprehensive overview of corporate financial principles, a rigorous exposure to quantitative financial methods and techniques, and an introduction to capital theory.\u00a0 In addition, students have the opportunity to learn how financial markets and institutions interact to allocate capital and manage business and personal financial risks.\u00a0 Finance courses also teach students how financial managers participate in the global economy and use forecasting tools and techniques to plan their businesses more efficiently.\u00a0 Students can participate in the co-op program which gives them the opportunity to work under the supervision of a financial professional and a faculty advisor.
