FA President\u2019s Report<\/b><\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><b>Presidential Search Committee Faculty Nominations<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Presidential search has five nominees [listed in alphabetical order according to last names]:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Rikki Abzug [ASB]<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Paramjeet Bagga [TAS]<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Eric Karlin [TAS]<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ira Spar [HGS]<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ashwani <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Vasishth [SSHS]<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Submit additional nominations to the FA President, Tae Kwak or\u00a0 the FAEC Secretary, Nakia Matthias by Friday, November 1 at 11:59 pm.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><b>FAEC Presidential Nominations<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">FAEC Presidential nominees will deliver speeches at the next FA.\u00a0 Voting will take place online. A link or site will be available to faculty to cast their votes.\u00a0 There will be a one week voting window to secure votes. Submit nominations to the FA President, Tae Kwak or\u00a0 the FAEC Secretary, Nakia Matthias.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><b>Three Plus One Agreements<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Provost has informed FA that TPO\u2019s bear guarantees of exclusivity.\u00a0 There are also rough preliminary numbers relative to the financial benefits of TPO\u2019s which can be provided by the Provost\u2019s Office.\u00a0 There had not been any determination as to whether TPO\u2019s will feature three or four credit courses.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>3. President Mercer\u2019s Report<\/b><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This month the College has received an initial disbursement of the funding that was sequestered by the Governor\u2019s office<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">President Mercer has been invited to meet with the New Jersey Secretary of Higher Education next month.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Learning Commons is on pace toward its completion<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><b>4. Provost\u2019s Report<\/b><\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><b>Transitioning to the Canvas Learning Management Platform<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Canvas is available for the Spring semester and faculty can begin setting up their courses using the interface\u2019s sandbox feature. \u00a0 The instructional design center can be contacted for any support needed to setting up course content on Canvas. Material uploaded to canvas will be protected intellectual property.\u00a0 The provost suggests using Canvas to alleviate costs associated with copying and printing through the use of ink and paper. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/idc\/canvas\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/idc\/canvas\/<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><b>Faculty- Student Research Collaborations<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Provost Becker encourages faculty to consider student-faculty collaborative research and cites this engagement as one of the best predictors of student success.\u00a0 A faculty member suggested a streamlined and more efficient way to apply for campus-based and九色视频 related funding in support of research with students. Currently this time consuming and laborious process calls for completion of multiple applications through various offices and programs.\u00a0 It was mentioned that perhaps a universal application can serve to streamline such application processes in the future.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><b>Archiving and Accessing Documentation via Strategic Planning Online (SPOL)<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Provost recommends that each unit work to store and assess faculty credentials\/records using SPOL.\u00a0 faculty can update their CV and programs can upload records relative to reappointment, promotion, and tenure processes. Additionally the platform can be used to house student\/faculty work.\u00a0 <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/iep\/spol\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/iep\/spol\/<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><b>Faculty Development Funding<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The level of support for the Faculty Development Fund will remain the same as last year\u2019s appropriations.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>5. John Woods, The Office of the Ombuds\u00a0<\/b><\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The mission of the 九色视频 Ombuds is \u201c To serve as an accessible, independent, impartial and confidential resource for the expeditious resolution of issues and disputes within Ramapo College.\u201d\u00a0 The Ombuds office does not represent management, staff, faculty, administrators or parents. Communication with the ombudsman is confidential. Most communication will be conducted in person and e-mail communication is limited relative to any concerns brought to the attention of the Office of the Ombuds.\u00a0 The Ombudsman is on campus two days per week but is available via telephone any day of the week.
