Healing Hands- Act I

February 19, 2022 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Four women in long, light-colored dresses stand on grass at night, each holding a glowing round lantern. A white fence is visible in the background. The scene is softly lit by the lanterns. A man with short gray hair and glasses, wearing a denim jacket over a yellow plaid shirt, sits with his elbow resting on a wooden crate, looking thoughtfully at the camera. Tattoos are visible on his left forearm.

Healing Hands is an evening of new works-in-progress based on how the arts are contributing to healing during these challenging times.  Act I will feature two performances including the work “Embedded Memories,” acknowledging personal histories through the lens of scars and their images which live permanently on our bodies. The second half of the program will showcase excerpts from storyteller and artist  work “My Anxiety Project,” an exploration of how art has become an integral part of his journey to mental health.
